Our Community

Acacia pride ourselves on our community involvement both within our educational program and by supporting families. Our educational programs encompasses the exploration of our local communities through incursions, excursions and outings.  This could include visiting, parks libraries, art galleries, community gardens and shops. We also invite our community members to our centres to promote both cultural awareness and health and well-being practices.

This extends to our successful school transition program where relationships are built with local primary schools that enables us to exchange information and participate in a shared transition program. We often have school children visit us to read books with children and we visit the schools and participate in many school based activities.

We believe that our program needs to reflect and connect with our local community. We value working in partnership with the community and building relationships with them to ensure an inclusive program and pedagogical practice. We attend many local network meetings to ensure that our programs reflect our current community needs and expectations.

In addition, we are resourceful in local family services, to enable us to link children and families to services when a need arises.
