Full time educator at St Albans

Acacia Children’s Centre is a not for profit community based centre located in St Albans. We are an integrated Long Day Care and Kindergarten service. We pride ourselves on our commitment to the inclusion of all children and to enhance all children’s wellbeing so they can become confident and independent learners. Our innovative educational program is delivered as an indoor/outdoor program which focusses on children learning through play and inquiry-based learning. We have been awarded with an Exceeding National Standards rating in the National Quality Standards.

We are seeking a passionate Early Childhood educator with a CERT III in Early Childhood Education. The successful candidate must have a commitment to high quality practice and be able to plan, implement and maintain a program which reflects our Centres educational philosophy. The candidate must also demonstrate an ability to provide an inclusive program, be flexible, innovative and have creative vision. An ability to demonstrate a high level of understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS) is essential.
The ongoing position is for 38 hours per week. The successful applicant will be remunerated under the conditions of the Children’s Services Award 2010. In addition they will be offered RDOs, , extensive professional development and all other entitlements offered by Acacia.

• Certificate of Early Childhood or ACECQA assessed equivalent
• Previous experience in an educator role
• Extensive knowledge of the EYLF and the NQS
• Strong Computer skills
• Ability to work cohesively with a team of Educators
• Assist in the centres daily routines and processes
• Excellent Communication (written & verbal) skills

• Current Level 2 First Aid, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis management, mandatory reporting certificates
• An up-to-date CV in word document outlining relevant experience
• 2 contactable referees from the childcare industry, comprising of at least one Nominated Supervisor/Director or Centre Owner/Operator, and one Supervisor
