Our Philosophy
For over 100 years, Acacia Fitzroy Crèche has been part of the Fitzroy community — a place where every child and family feels safe, welcomed, and valued.
We celebrate our multicultural community and the many cultures, languages, and traditions that shape who we are. Creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing place where every child, family, student and team member feels respected, valued, and a sense of belonging. We are committed to keeping every child safe and empowered to have a voice.
Our team of dedicated educators and teachers, from diverse backgrounds, works in partnership with families and the wider community to nurture confident, capable learners who care for themselves, each other, and the world around them.
Our curriculum is designed by qualified teachers and educators to reflect each child’s unique strengths, interests, and needs throughout the day. Using observations and reflections, our team plans meaningful experiences that support children’s learning and development across all areas of the EYLF and VEYLDF. Through local walks, cultural events, and community partnerships, children learn about belonging, kindness, and being active citizens. Our play-based, inquiry-led curriculum supports creativity, cooperation, emotional wellbeing, and curiosity about the world.
We pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people past, present, and emerging. We promise to care for the land, rivers, and trees, as well as the sky, birds, and animals. Our promise extends to all people, including ourselves.
